What size to take? Rather linen or cotton? Plain or printed patterns? So many questions that remain a real headache from time to time... However, they are not to be taken lightly. Both in terms of comfort and decoration. To help you choose your ideal bed linen, here are some tips.
FANS OF LARGE OR SMALL SPACES: WHICH SIZE TO CHOOSE FOR YOUR BED SET?
Your bedding should match the size of your bedding. Thus, a single bed will require a duvet cover of 140 x 200 cm, while a bed linen set for 2 people will rather display the following dimensions: 200 x 200 cm, 240 x 220 cm, or even 260 x 240 cm. The fitted sheet, on the other hand, should be proportional to the size of your mattress. If it measures for example 120 x 190 x 30 cm, the size of the fitted sheet must be identical. Finally, the pillowcases are available in several formats: the square pillowcase measures 65 x 65 cm, while the rectangular pillowcase measures 50 x 70 cm.
PERCALE, COTTON, LINEN: WHICH MATERIAL TO CHOOSE FOR AN IDEAL NIGHT ?
It depends on your desires and tastes, but also on the quality of textile you are looking for.
o Cotton percale: this is a superior quality cotton. It offers a soft and cocooning touch, and resists over time. A first step towards satin.
o Cotton satin: a noble material with a fine and tight weave. It is considered top of the range thanks to its very silky touch. You will believe yourself in hotel sheets.
o Flax: this plant tissue is made from flax fibres. Very resistant, it is also appreciated for its slightly wrinkled and fresh finish. It lets your skin breathe in summer and winter.
o Cotton from organic farming: it is good for the planet, but it is also good for our interiors. Soft and fresh, it is perfect for simple everyday moments.
HOW TO WASH YOUR BED LINEN?
Rule n°1, your bedding should be washed every 2 weeks, summer and winter alike. Do you think your bed linen likes to be warm in the washing machine? Not false ! It can be washed at a temperature between 60°C and 90°C maximum. However, some materials prefer the cold, such as silk: be careful to read the care labels.
For all this, you also need a suitable detergent . Our skin is in direct contact with bed linen. So, for the most sensitive skin, turn to a hypoallergenic and preservative-free detergent.
Finally, the last step: drying! You can dry your bedding outdoors or in a clothes dryer, but check the recommendations on the care labels first.

There are endless possibilities for decorating your bed.
