Sensitive skin: the right steps to take in the laundry room
As we all know, the arrival of a baby in a family usually causes major upheaval, even when it comes to choosing laundry detergent! How can you effectively clean your little clothes without damaging your skin? What are the right reflexes to know to be sure you choose the right detergent? Discover all our advice on the subject.

As you can probably imagine, babies' fragile skin isn't yet ready to cope with the external aggressions it can be subjected to on a daily basis. To avoid redness and irritation, it's important to pay special attention to any textiles in contact with these little ones (and more often, any sensitive skin).
Taking care of it means paying attention to it every day, even in the laundry room, as you've probably guessed. But don't worry, it's nothing complicated!
LAUNDRY DETERGENT AND SENSITIVE SKIN: COMPATIBLE!
To begin, wash your clothes and any other textiles immediately after purchase to eliminate as many dyes and potentially toxic substances as possible. In addition to protecting your skin, this will add your signature scent . Two birds with one stone!
Next, of course, choose a suitable detergent. And there's no need for a "baby-friendly" label. Indeed, this guarantees nothing more than a product that's respectful of sensitive skin. Make sure to avoid preservatives, colorants, antioxidants, allergens, etc. as much as possible.
Another ingredient, often unsuspected, can also be the cause of irritation: enzymes. Each type of enzyme helps dissolve a specific type of stain, which is why we often find a small cocktail of these molecules to facilitate the stain-fighting action of your laundry detergents. Useful, you might say... but many of these enzymes are irritating and sensitizing, and should therefore be avoided.
Should we ban traditional fabric softeners?
Also, limit your use of fabric softeners: many contain substances that are undesirable for sensitive skin. Instead, use white vinegar, which dissolves limescale in the water, preventing it from depositing on your laundry and making it rougher. White vinegar also has the advantage of being an antiseptic.
Finally, opt for long rinse cycles to remove as much residue as possible from the various products in your textiles.
